the opportunity

To support the localised housekeeping teams in all activities to ensure that every esa apartment in the allocated location is serviced according to client contracts and expectations, and presented to the esa required standards.

The housekeeping team is vital to keep the cleanliness and the standards of our portfolio.

Typically, guests are international employees (perhaps with their families) who come to work in the UK for several weeks or months and who may have different levels of familiarity with life in the UK

The job holder will be required to ensure that the cleanliness and brand standards are maintained at all times during the weekly services and at the times that the apartment is vacated and cleaned ready for the next guest.

The role will require time spent at all the apartments in the location and from time to time support will be required in any other areas within reasonable distance.

key tasks & responsibilities

  • carry out turnaround cleans in apartments that have been vacated and prepare them for occupation, ensuring all cleaning activities identified on the esa turnaround check-sheet are completed to the highest standard
  • in designated apartments, vacuum and polish communal areas
  • ensure sufficient stock collected from housekeeping store each day to replace all necessary linen, replenish bin liners, bathroom supplies, water filters and cleaning products as required
  • clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and materials, report any defects
  • keep laundry count sheet records for the housekeeping supervisor
  • provide accompanied access to ad hoc requests from Central Operations for 3rd party access to apartments
  • resolve minor maintenance issues such as replacing spent batteries in controllers and phones, replacing bulbs in bedside lamps, unblocking toilets, tightening loose screws, resetting washing machine faults, testing BT lines under instruction, checking unlabelled keys and fobs
  • promptly report any maintenance or decorative issues that require the Maintenance Team to attend, including ceiling lights, damage to furniture, non-functioning items to the relevant supervisor
  • providing guest with additional appliance advice
  • gathering or checking evidence for Guest Services (ahead of damage charges to guests)
  • delivering chilled Welcome Pack goods and non-stock items to the apartments (eg. Zbeds, rice cookers, travel cots)
  • assisting guests with their luggage between apartment swaps
  • arrange service wash runs for guests


  • dress in smart esa uniform at all times when working
  • ensure that all processes surrounding management of our keys and security of our properties are observed at all times

health and safety

  • ensure your own safety at all times when dealing with guests and working remotely
  • ensure you use Personal Protective Equipment when required
  • ensure that you adhere to health and safety standards, including but not limited to: manual handling and COSHH

you will have

  • experience in a cleaning role requiring high standards of finish would be a distinct advantage but training will be given
  • experience within hospitality/housekeeping environment preferred but not essential
  • prior cleaning or manual experience desirable
  • basic knowledge of cleaning products and applications desirable
  • able to demonstrate good practical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • able to act appropriately when dealing with clients
  • role requires good levels of physical fitness
  • self motivated and comfortable lone working, and motivated to work well within small interchangeable teams in multiple locations
  • excellent time management skills
  • obsessive eye for detail and accuracy
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • extremely organised and methodical with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • hard-working and task-focused
  • must be well presented and comfortable being the "face of esa" when meeting clients
  • able to lift or move heavy furniture and stand for long periods of time
